Belton Mouras Entertainment

Belton studied classical music from the age of five until his late teenage years. In his twenties, his interests progressed to jazz. In 2000 he produced his first CD of original piano compositions, entitled “belton”. Not long after releasing his CD, and as many creative types learn about themselves, he was not to be stifled in his ever-evolving creative life journey. He discovered he had a passion for visual expression after attending a drawing course that a local artist friend was teaching. He studied under several art instructors learning a multitude of styles and the finer nuisances of creative expressions through painting. He soon discovered a fondness for painting with acrylics on canvas and his newfound art world exploded over the next ten years as he created hundreds of distinctive art works.

His art works have been heavily influenced by his lifelong musical background. He weaves in musical references from many perspectives and several friends call them “musical art” paintings. One of his most popular series is his “musical cities” works—combining musical expressions with urban landscapes, creating very vibrant, whimsical images. Several of his musical themed paintings have become the backgrounds for musical art covers for his smooth jazz singles, which become featured on this web site under “Painting of the Month”.

His love of animals has helped inspire many of his works and he paints depictions of animals found in interesting and unusual poses. Some of his most popular works are among this group. Belton enjoys giving back to his community and has hosted several art benefits and events at his home and other venues where he donates all funds raised from the sale of his art (and other invited artist friends of his who donate their art) to his favorite animal charity organizations.

His creative world expanded again in 2006 when he discovered filmmaking. He helped to produce his first feature film and land a small speaking role in it and produced several short films of the Cajun Culture in Louisiana, part of his father’s cultural background. By 2012 he was asked to compose and produce his first music score for a short film and he has produced many scores and film productions since. In 2021 he wrote, directed, and produced his first feature film, Mickey’s Tree and went on to compose and produce a 12-song soundtrack published globally on Smooth Jazz.Com .
